Patrick Tanner

After hearing Patrick Tanner’s brand new album, I had to know more.  Now I was not so shocked to learn that someone with such a well-crafted sound had released seven albums before this one, but far more so to realize I’d never heard of him before.  A prolific local veteran and producer of such greats as Tina & the B-Sides and Martin Zellar, Tanner is a luminary in his own right, bringing intensely introspective songwriting off the shelf like a bottle of good whiskey.  My advice is to drink it slowly, savoring every bit.  If the souls of Willie Nelson, Tom Waits, and Leo Kottke warm your heart as they do my own, you need to have a listen, perhaps with a sunset behind you.

About Josh

Josh has a ravenous appetite for good music. His likes include everything from electronica to country; black metal to underground hip hop; world music to the guy around the corner. That said, he does expect something to stick out for him to take interest in, and absolutely loves acts which defy genre conventions. Not a musician by trade or even hobby, he writes with an ear of appreciation and an earnest respect for the creative process.
